Have you ever heard of a rooster crow? I don’t think I ever heard or even been near one in person. Just seen it on tv. I know that its loud enough to wake you up if there was one outside by you. The only type of bird I’ve been around is Guinea Fowl, my Father in Law used to raise them. I hated them. There was this one that was evil. I’m scared of it. One time I went over there and apparently one of the guineas (the evil one) managed to get out of the backyard and as I was getting out of my car and heading toward the front door of my in laws , I saw him come running after me. I screamed and ran all the way back to my car. Nope, not today devil! Speaking of birds , specifically the rooster, I want to share a verse with you about Peter and the rooster’s crow.
“After a little while, those standing there went up to Peter and said, “Surely you are one of them; your accent gives you away.” Then he began to call down curses, and he swore to them, “I don’t know the man!” Immediately a rooster crowed. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: “Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.”
Matthew 26:73–75 NIV
Have you ever denied knowing Jesus? How about this, if you haven’t shared the gospel with anyone yet, is it because you’re afraid of what the others will think? If so, in some way that is denying him out of fear. Have you ever thought about that?. Peter was fearful of what others may think of him or that they may even kill him which is why he denied Jesus. I know I need to do better in this area.
“So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God.”
2 Timothy 1:8 NIV
“If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.”
1 Peter 4:14 NIV
Don’t let fear stop you from sharing the gospel. God will blessed you for that. There’s so many people out there that need the gospel, especially the younger generation. Start by inviting someone to church today.
