“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and THE GOD OF ALL COMFORT;”
2 Corinthians 1:3 KJV
I live in Oklahoma where the weather can be formidable to say the least. My part of Oklahoma is in the midst of what is known as tornado alley! Every Oklahoman has a twister story. Tornados are not the only weather struggle we face. One day it would rain next snow then possibly tornado warning to follow all that but that’s life in Oklahoma for you.
Troubled times in our lives are often referred to as “storms” or “the storms of life”, isn’t it awesome that no matter how loud the storm is that we go through in our life, that our voices (no matter how small) will be heard by God through our trials? In midst of all of this, we can lift our hands in prayer. He will hear us. He will comfort us. As it says in 2 Corinthians 1:3, “Our Father is the GOD OF ALL COMFORT.;.” He will always comfort us through any storm that we go through.
I know this may not come to our minds when we are struggling in whatever storm of life we are going through. When we are in the thick of the fight, in the eye of the storm, we as believers should lift our hands and praise him. His faithfulness and goodness are with us even through the darkest storm. He won’t give us more than we can handle if we lean on his strength and not our own self-reliance.
Will you praise him through your storms?
““Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV
